Lock RV Product Instructions & Pictures
1)
Using a step-ladder mark the location of the lock
on the awning main support arm. The shaft part of
the lock crosses 1/8" above the awning end
cap. Center the lock assembly on the support arm
and mark the bottom location with a marker. Make
a mark on the roller tube ½ below where the
shaft crosses the end cap. Extend the awning out
and lock it in place. Place the template on the
arm where you made the mark on the awning arm.
2) Center
punch the holes as indicated on the template, and
using the #9 drill bit, supplied, drill and secure
with the 10/32 x1" stainless steel machine
screws and lock nuts, supplied.
3)
Center punch the mark on the aluminum end cap first,
then using the #18 drill bit, supplied, drill straight
into the end cap and roller tube.
4)
Install the 10/32x5/8" stainless steel thread
forming machine screw with the 3/8x1/4" spacer
in the hole. This is the roller tube stop. Installation
is now complete. Put the awning up. To lock the
awning, in the travel position, simply push the
end of the lock shaft towards the end cap using
your awning wand.
To unlock the
awning, prior to lowering and unlocking the OEM
lock, push or slide the lock shaft away from the
end cap using your awning wand. This position of
the lock shaft clears the awning stop.
Carefree of
Colorado awnings with internal locking mechanism,
mount lock assembly on the right main support arm.
Offset of lock shaft through the lock assembly,
should be towards the bottom.
A&E Dometic
awnings, mount lock assembly on the left support
arm. Offset of lock shaft through the lock assembly,
should be towards the top.
BE
SURE TO MARK, CENTER PUNCH, AND DRILL THE ROLLER
TUBE STOP 1/2" BELOW THE LOCK SHAFT WHERE IT
CROSSES THE LARGEST DIAMETER OF THE END CAP.
AWNING
LOCK INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Mark the location of the lock
on the awning main support arm, (this can be done
with the awning out at ground level) the shaft part
of the lock crosses 1/8" above the awning end cap.
Center the lock assembly on the support arm and
mark the two mounting holes.
2)
Center punch the holes, and using the #9 drill bit,
supplied, drill and secure with the 10/32 x1" stainless
steel machine screws and lock nuts, supplied.
3)
Raise or retract the awning all the way up into
the travel position. Using a step ladder, mark on
the end cap, 1/2" below the lock shaft, as in drawing.
Lower the awning down to drill this hole, standing
on the ground. Be sure to center punch the aluminum
end cap first, then using the #18 drill bit, supplied,
drill straight into the end cap and roller tube.
4)
Install the 10/32x5/8" stainless steel thread forming
machine screw with the 3/8x1/4" nylon spacer in
the hole. This is the roller tube stop.
To lock the
awning, in the travel position, simply push the
end of the lock shaft towards the end cap using
your awning wand.
To unlock the
awning, prior to lowering and unlocking the OEM
lock, push or slide the lock shaft away from the
end cap using your awning wand. This position of
the lock shaft clears the awning stop.
